MCT:November 18, 200811-16-08 --Great family movie. Its been a long time coming for these 3 chipmunks to make the live action big screen. Even though Jason Lee's performance wasn't quite up to my standards everything was allright. I mean Maddie loved all the singin' and dancin' so who am I to complain!

SUMMARY: this movie is about three talented chipmunks geting accepted into the life of an often upset songwiter. After their talent is shared with the rest of the world then they face stardom
POSITIVES: good cast, decent plot, somewhat funny.
IMPROVEMENTS: the storyline needed to be alot better, not bad tho.
OVERALL: its a decent movie -

It was cute, but I still like the cartoon from my childhood better.
Nice to see a clean-shaven Jason Lee from time to time, and the CGI chipmunks are fairly convincing as they interact with the humans.
Not a bad call for cable viewing. -

Loved it! Such a cute movie. I've always loved The Chipmunks growing up and to be honest I still love them today.. They did such a good job on this film and I must go buy it! :)

MCT:October 31, 2008This is like one of the most boring, horrible movies of 2007/2008 (i don't know). There are many reasons why. 1. The most annoying thing is that the movie changes the subject like everytime! For instance, at first it was supposed to be about these stupid chipmunks singing and all that stuff. But then the director had to put in "funny" parts and effects too. This isn't the true plot. This plot is supposed to be about the critters singing, not fooling themselves and cracking up the audience with laughter. I only like movies with a one whole plot and conflict. 2. Have you seen the face of that David dude? Nuh-uh, a no-can-do face for a comedy person. Besides, he looks hideous, along with singing, stupid chipmunks. In other words, bad acting (especially the chipmunk voices and that I will explain later). 3. The movie is just horrible and is only good or kids and not adults. In other words, it isn't a reccomended movie for FAMILIES. Alvin, shut your squeaky, little mouth! If you dolts think your "cute" voices that convince me to write a positive review, then over my dead body!

I love Alvin and the Chipmunks. I remember them when I was little. After watching this movie I got really interested. And looked up Chipmunk hisitory and became a bigger fan. Though I actually prefer the 80's cartoon. This movie was definaly worth seeing and brought me a crazy fandom!

DAM!!! They are so cute. Theodore just brings tears to my eyes of cuteness. That little chipmunk is adorable!!!!
It's a great feel good movie with a nice ending and a killer soundtrack. Perfectly re-watchable just cause it never grows old!!

Being a nostalgic fan of the original series, this had me wincing a fair share. The attitude, the music, Jason Lee, the computer animation and the low ambitions are all disappointing. At the same time, the script makes some fine observations on American pop culture and the ignorance of the masses. In that spirit, David Cross is hilarious as the loser record executive.

This movie tries so hard --SO hard-- to be "hip" and "with it," but ends up being incredibly stupid. If you're older than 6 and younger than 60, it's very likely that you will hate this movie.

It's the Chipmunks - it was cute. Like them when I was a child & my child liked them when he was a child and the movie carries that 50s/60s & 80s/90s generation of fans into the present. Fun to see them animated in this new way. For me the "history of" the Chipmunks was the most interesting. Stop rolling your eyes at me everyone.

well I would disagree of it being the best because I enjoyed loads of movies last year Starter for ten is one Hidalgo is another and Ratatouille was another but it is a very good movie and very funny but I just had to disagree of it being the best.

This movie I thought would be alright, I didn't think it would be or could be any where close to the actual Alvin and the Chimpmucks but I was greatly suprised. This movie is wonderful and wonderfully put together. I love it, and would love to see it again.
