It took a long time to bring this to television, but it was worth the wait. This movie is filled with great actors and it follows different stories of people infected with AIDS in the early years of the disease. It centers on the CDC's search for a cure, and the origins of the virus. This movie deals with alot from politics and how Ronald Reagan really dropped the ball for the Country. I could go on and on. Check this movie out, you will definitely learn a few things.
very interesting!!! odd how on the back cover of the dvd it said it was r. but on everywhere else it says its either pg or pg13
Fascinating look at the very beginning of the AIDS epidemic. Had this horrific disease been offing nuns and small children you can bet your bottom dollar Reagan would have stepped in and done something. Since however gay men were dying in droves from HIV and AIDS, Reagan was silent. In fact Reagan didn't even mention the word AIDS until 25,000 Americans had passed away. Disgraceful!
A excellent made for TV movie based off the book, features an all star cast with a great story about the beginning of the AIDS crisis. Though it is sad to watch at times the performances keep you glued to your seat. A must see!!!!!!!
Never too late to learn our recent history, and how everything has a political angle.
Dr. Dennis Donohue (Ken Jenkins): When doctors start acting like businessmen, who can the people turn to for doctors?
Very informative and has a plethora of big actors playing smalls roles. It was a little long, but it's well worth sitting through the whole thing.
A good film with an impressive cast, but it kinda forces the message it tries to present. Still, though ad-like, very engrossing and powerful.
This was a great movie. Shows how people in high places in our goverment dont give a shit about what happens to gay community. Not till it hits the straight community
Again.. another serious tear jerker if you're any kind of humanitarian. Informative and helps spread awareness.
Very powerful docudrama with excellent cast. Whatever your feelings on the AIDS epidemic this is an unfliching look at the failure of the government in the early days of AIDS crisis.
This is still the saddest movie I have ever seen in my life. I've seen it a thousand times and I cry through the credits every time. If you really need a good cry, this is your movie.
Brilliant movie!!! It's about how AIDS first came about in America and it really shows how far we've all come since then when it comes to disease control. It's definitely a must-see movie! You can't help but feel for the victims and empathize with the guys from CDC.
Have seen this so many times and it still makes me cry. Every person should see this movie and not take away from the message it is trying to convey without preconceptions or prejudices.
Once again five stars! Awesome cast and story line. This movie was informative of history of HIV/AIDS. I loved how this movie shows the paranoia of how this deadly virus was thought to have been spread and debunks all of the rumors. I was however disappointed to learn the healthcare was cut drastically by a former president(watch and find out by whom) especially when he knew that there was a possible epidemic during his term. I loved the sensitivity this movie showed toward men and women who were suffering and died of the most deadly virus known to mankind.
I've probably watched this movie a dozen times, which is something I can't say for any other movie starring Matthew Modine.
Also, I always cry at the end. Because I'm not a robot.
I just can't say enough about this film. It's sad, gut wrenching, disturbing, and one of the best movies I've seen. A must see.
Not bad, although it was more a Lifetime movie than an actual film. Still, holds up surprisingly well.
This movie was the reason I chose AIDS and the people's reaction for 9th grade term paper. Excellent film.
Great movie on the beginning of the AIDS epedemic makes you wonder if we'd have a cure by now if not for Reagan
this was so mesmerising...have been wanting to see it again for ages...everyone should see it! see it now!!!!
Great story about the very beginning of the Aids problem in America. Sad, touching, educational and frustrating.
