as much as i love batman i really do not like this one...george clooney and pretty much EVERYone in this movies is terrible! baaad baaaad!
One of the worst Hollywood huge-budget productions ever made... lol. Only Arnie seems to be making something similar to good acting... the rest, simply spoofs themselves without any charm. And making a drag queen of Uma Thurman... unforgivable.
Arnold has one to many one-liners in this almost horrible batman movie. thank god they are updating the franchise! otherwise pack it in!
The poorest of the Batman films to have been created for the big screen. Clooney is miscast in this messy film which has gone far too 'cartooney'.
Awful, camp comic book actioner which mercifully marked the end of Joel Schumacher's time at the helm of the Batman franchise
a perfect example of how to take a good story and turning it into a terrible movie. Schumacher turned this into a circus of egos
Poor George, getting landed with a failing franchise. It's not the role for him, Bring Back Michael Keaton!
Always torn with this as its that bad...but quite intentionally so to echo back to the 60's self-satirical spoofing....but its not funny, ruined a franchise and is generally very ill-concieved....i couldnt take any more neon and puns.
This is not just the worst comic book movie of all time; this is one of the worst movies of all time. You could look at this movie and never tell it is in the same movie universe as Tim Burton's films. Ah-nuld plays Mr. Freeze completely wrong. Instead of the tortured soul in the comics and the animated series, we get a failed stand-up comedian doing ice jokes. Uma plays her part like a man in drag doing Uma Thurman. And I could go on: the bat credit card, the ice skating sequence, the bat nipples. God good, the bat nipples. And Chris O'Donnell, what the hell?
pretty weak and stupid but its fun to watch all the lame quotes from mr freeze and george clooney as batman making jokes when batmans sposed to be a serious depressed character its not a bad movie if you dont take it seriously and why the hell were they air surfing on mr freezes spaceships doors
Ok seriously, the worst Batman movie ever. The villain sucked. The storyline...Yeesh...I only watched the movie the first 15 minutes and I lost count how many times I've yawned throughout those 15 precious minutes of mine. And,yeah,I don't like Clooney being Batman.Of all Batman,Bale,Keaton,Kilmer and Clooney,I think Clooney makes the most undesirable Batman
Somewhat amusing (definitely moreso than the '89 version), visually appealing (but is Gotham supposed to look that way? Answer=NO!), Robin's hot and not gaily dressed or gay, for that matter, and finally, sucky story but one that held some attention.
I wouldn't watch this again unless I was forced to or we would fast-forward to the horribly cheesy Mr. Freeze quotes...
This is a movie to watch it
over and over. Arnold Schwarzenegger
act very good like Mr.freeze and i think
George Clooney is the best batman ever.
I liked it as a kid, but I've seen it again recently on t.v. ... yeesh, well I'm just glad I've seen the light. The dialogue is cringe-worthy and the acting is brutally bad...only Uma Thurman is fun to watch because she's the only one smart enough to go full-camp and not take the movie seriously. Still, her talent is wasted. And just WHY on earth was Arnold picked to play Mr. Freeze?...you may as well hire Fran Drescher to do the voice of Darth Vader in the next Star Wars flick.
The problem here isn?t just the ludicrous story. It also features awesomely awful dialogue.
A festival of stupidity
The most campy of the Batman movies. I enjoyed the Adam West movie more. They had to many villains in this film. Bane was not needed in this film.
All and many have criticised this film for being campy, and yet it doesn't try to be anything else. Sure, that may not suit the character of Batman, but to bemoan it for that is like shooting a dog for having a wet nose. Yeah, Mr Freeze's script is woeful as is Bat-Girl, but it never lies to you or confuses you like Forever. Still awful, but at least it's tolerable.
i liked the action sequences, and alicia silverstone in leather was hot. but arnie as mr. freeze, cum on people
OMG! HOLY SHIT! HAHA! I love this movie when I was a kid and still enjoy it but for the wrong reason. After rewatching Batman Forever, which wasn't actually that bad, I thought it would be the same for this one....umm..no. The movie starts with shots of Batman's nipples, ass and crotch then proceed to a fight scene littered with cheesy ice related one liners delivered by Arnold Schwarzenegger ROFL!!! That's when I realize that I should leave my brain behind to enjoy this flick.
This one is probably my favourite out of all the old batman movies. some of the lines seemed a bit cheesy, although i guess you'd expect that in a movie based on a comic strip.
Hands down the worst Batman movie I have ever seen. Sure Silverstone is hot but that doesnt help the movie's rating. It is thoughtless, random, cartoonish, and ultimately childish.
Not only is this the worst Batman movie, it is a disgrace to cinema. You know the movie will be bad when one of the opening shots is a crash zoom on Batman's crotch. It just gets worse from there. Not only did it suck, it bit the big one and sucked again. This film should be banned from every country. Not because it offends a certain group of people but because it is literally a slap in the face to all movies and should never be seen again by anyone at any place at any time.
This sucks even more than the previous Batman movie! Clooney makes the worst Batman ever seen; he's so bad that's it's just unforgivable.
I actually paid to see this! After the torture...er, movie was over, I wanted go right up to the projector booth, kill the projectionist, smash up the box-office until they gave me my money back, and then burn down the theatre for showing it!
This movie sucks so much that it SHOULD have been called Schumacher the Bat Vacuum!
Do yourself a favor and never see this steaming pile of shit. See Tim Burton's Batman films instead.
Ok, so I know it wasn't the best, it was an ok movie and I liked the actors in it. It was a little crazy and definitely not up to par with the others, but it wasn't as bad as most people are saying--as for the goofy puns, refer to the Batman of the 60's, as campy as you can get! But whatever the Director of Batman & Robin was thinking it didn't quite mesh and didn't really work.
It is easy to see why this film sucked so badly becoming one of the worst films of 1997. Not even George Clooney or Uma Thurman couldn't save this movie. Nor Arnold. Blame Joel Schumacher for destroying the "Batman" franchise. Another reason why? The careers of both Alicia Silverstone and Chris O'Donnell were completely destroyed in this movie, which to this day why both of these actors are M.I.A.(Missing In Action) in Hollywood. By the way Alicia Silverstone was riding high as a great actress before her abyss here who went from "Clueless"(her breakthrough film and the one that rocketed her career) to a downward slide. And her role as "Batgirl" was the slide that botch her career. Same can be said for Chris O'Donnell. Because of this, the franchise wasn't heard of until 2005,when Christopher Nolan revived it and brought it back to life in "Batman Begins".
I have never, ever watched this movie since I saw it in theaters. I cannot believe how incredibly lame this movie was. It's like this movie was planned to bomb. Remember the scene where Batman and Robin are underwater (and why are they getting their A**es handed to them anyways?) and Robin surfaces and the film is played backwards as he is dragged under again? Or the unbelieveably pathetic puns from Mr. Freeze? And who could forget the inexplicable ice skates within their boots?
'Nuf said.
>_>
A 3 star average for this film on Flixster?! What on earth is going on here? Half a star is being generous for this movie.
Joel Schumacher was the man credited as killing the Batman franchise and with this, his second attempt, it's easy to see why. With dialogue from villan Mr Freeze such as: "You're not sending ME to the COOLER!", the nipples on the Batsuit and next to no cognitive direction at all.
Not even the ravaging beauty of Uma Thurman can save this film. I'd be prepared to view 364 hours of the home shopping channel, then be subjected to this dog of a film again. Praise Christopher Nolan for his wonderful follow-up Batman Begins, where the only person out of their depth was Katie Holmes as the love interest... eewww!
