This is one of the most bizarre movies I've ever seen. It was made in 2002, but it was clearly meant to be made as a Disney live-action musical in 1963 or so. It feels *exactly* like one of those. It has a lot of Jay-Wardesque humor that is totally different than I've come to expect from children's movies these days -- in a good way. Not a terrible movie, by any means... although it does have enough "Wait, what, huh?!" moments to make it only okay.
OK... I admit to seeing and enjoying this cute movie and I don't even have the excuse of saying that there was a kid with me at the time... LOL.
Disney has this bad habit of getting the rights to recognizable franchise characters and then making horrible low-budget garbage films from them. The modernized country bears in this disaster are made to resemble some sort of traveling Willie Nelson band, which probably reflects the producer's wish to hang out with cool bands but it will never happen because he makes shit films like this.
Change all your Disney choices to Studio Ghibli, otherwise your children might turn out to be rapists, terrorist and killers...it's true, Disney=Satan
i dont really remember this movie, i saw it in theatres, it is weird because it is the only movie that i have ever watched that i can't remember, but i think i might have liked it or something.
Horribly awful awfulness. There was no potential in the first place, the bears look fake and have no chemistry, and all the acting is stupid.
Cute! A lot like the Blues Brothers because of the musicians it got together! They had some really big people with cameos! Very cool.
omg this movie was so incredibly cute and all around fun to watch with the whole family - sing along now lol
Legendary. In my summer working at the movie theater, this was the ONLY movie all summer that I could not sit through for free.
Man, it was weird! It just kept going and going...no I didn't like it, the story was no good and whats with the bears? Really weird.
Not only cheesy, silly, dumb and embarrassing to watch, but Disney somehow managed to get Christopher Walken to play a singing bear. That must've been one heck of a paycheck, dude.
Would be best described as "The Blues Brothers" with far less profanity, and bears instead of Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi. As much as I tried to hate this flick, I can't help but be amused by it. It was nowhere near the debacle that it was painted to be and while yes, the bear effects were kind of cheesy, the movie certainly has its heart in the right place. Chrstopher Walken plays the stereotypical villain in this flick and is clearly having a blast doing so. The first of the movies based on a Disney park attraction.
This movie is based on a Disney Theme Park attraction called the Country Bears Jamboree, this movie is about a bear cub Beary Bearington voiced by Haley Joel Osmond's quest to discover his destiny to become a Country Bear. This is a really nice warmhearted family movie
Damn, that reminds me... movies like this are the reason why i stopped rating movies in the 1st place.
Kind of dumb. The bears looked so fake and the songs were dumb, but I guess kids would like this so...I can't hate it. They tried.
I bought this movie as a present, never gave it to the person I got it 4 cause I never saw them again, I was saving it as an xtra present for someone's BDay or 4 Christmas, BUT my daughter opened the wrapping...NOW I have 2 find it...it's lost SOMEWHERE in my small house!! I wanna see it, cause I LOVED The Country Bears ride/exhibit in DisneyWorld as a kid...I'm wondering if this movie stands up to that...also I'm wondering if they STILL have that exhibit in Disneyworld after all these yrs? I know some of their rides, like It's a Small World NEVER disappears, but 1 like this may have...HOPE NOT, cause, EVENTUALLY when I can afford 2 take my daughter 2 DisneyWorld, I want her 2 see this "exhibit" 2 show her something I liked when I went there as a kid & hope she'll like 2!!!
I know 5 stars may seem like a lot, but I really liked this movie....you can rate it as you please but I liked it
The Country Bears is the tale of one cub's quest to discover his destiny. My favorite musical of all-time, based on the Disney theme park attraction Country Bear Jamboree. It's cute and funny, and heart-warming fun. Great country music and great guest-stars. I love this movie.
