Jennifer and Violet Are a Couple of Dolls Jul 4, 2008 SexiVixxEN Other Jennifer Garner and Violet enjoyed the sunshine out on the town in LA yesterday. The Affleck-Garner girls have been looking great all dressed up recently — we're thinking Jen may have even traded in her backpack for good thanks to her ever growing bag collection. Ben was off in Vegas gambling for charity with his friend Matt, but hopefully dad Affleck will be back in time to celebrate the Fourth of July with some beach or barbecue alongside his precious girls.
Nicole Richie's Take Your Daughter To Work Day Jul 4, 2008 SexiVixxEN Other Nicole Richie got to work on the set of Chuck in LA on Tuesday and she had a very special visitor — her baby daughter Harlow. The little one spent most of the time making funny faces and hanging out while Nicole was off shooting. It's super sweet to see this mommy daughter duo spending their day at work together, now is it too much to ask that little Harlow make her acting debut on the show, too? Look at that face — she's a star already.
Heath Ledger: And the Oscar Goes to...Heaven Jul 4, 2008 SexiVixxEN Other Heath Ledger won't be making it to the next Oscars ceremony, but if his costars in The Dark Knight have their way, he will be honored. During a press conference for the new Batman flick, several of Heath's castmates hinted that he should be up for an Academy Award for his twisted take on the Joker, reports E! Online. "The Academy tends to overlook movies like this," said Gary Oldman, who plays Lt. James Gordon in the film. "But this acting is so good it's going to be very hard for them to avoid it." Rolling Stone critic Peter Travers would probably be inclined to agree. In his Dark Knight review, Travers raves, "I can only speak superlatives of Ledger, who is mad-crazy-blazing brilliant as the Joker." So is all the praise justified, or is it sympathetic puffery for an actor who died tragically? The proof will be in the film's July 18 release, but if these two think they're worthy of Emmys, Heath has a shot at Oscar consideration. And the Nobel Prize.
Sigourney Weaver Considering Another "Alien" Film Jul 4, 2008 SexiVixxEN Other Sigourney Weaver spoke to OK! Magazine, revealing that she would consider reprising her role as Ellen Ripley in another installment in the "Alien" franchise. "I would definitely do another if I had a director like Ridley Scott and we had a good idea," she says of the classic sci-fi movies. "Ridley is enthusiastic about it." Weaver, now almost sixty years old, first played Ripley at the age of thirty back in 1979. She went on to star in "Aliens" in 1986, "Aliens 3" in 1991 and "Alien: Resurrection" in 1997. Weaver believes that if Harrison Ford and Sylvester Stallone can create a comeback, so can she. "I'm not going to start apologizing," she says of her age. "Sophia Loren is my inspiration. She is a woman who has never apologized for being herself."

Guillermo del Toro, Hellboy and all his freak-ish friends are back to get their fight on in Hellboy II: The Golden Army, and the winners behind our three favorite captions based on the photo below will slip away with one Hellboy 2 t-shirt, one Hellboy 2 hat, one Hellboy 2 belt with buckle and one official Hellboy 2 poster. It's hot as hell outside, and come July 11 (when Hellboy 2 hits theaters), it'll get even hotter. Sound off critters!
Cinematical's Friday Night Double Feature: Frights for the Fourth Jul 4, 2008 Petes1234567 Other It would be easy to offer you appropriately themed movies for the Fourth of July. There is, of course, Independence Day, plus flicks like Yankee Doodle Dandy, or on a more serious note, Born of the Fourth of July. But what's the fun in that? You could come up with those yourself. I could be snarky and offer only British fare, which is actually very tempting, but I have something else in mind: Independence-themed chills. The two films for this double feature are not centered specifically on the Fourth of July, but the date is important to both stories -- whether it's the tale of tourists and teeth, or parades and creepiness. Do you see where I'm headed? For this double feature, in honor of the Fourth of July, I give you: Jaws and Cape Fear.
Fan Rant: Movies Are Not Fun Jul 4, 2008 Petes1234567 Other "If you don't make it yourself, it isn't fun. It's entertainment." I apologize to my colleagues and readers, because most film critics, reviewers and cinephiles have been known, at least at one point in his or her life, to call a movie "fun." I certainly am guilty of it somewhere, in some review or blog post or whatever. But I'm here to finally set the record straight, even though David Mamet clearly already informed us via the quote above, which is spoken by his wife, actress Rebecca Pidgeon, in his 2000 film State and Main. A movie can not be fun, it can only be entertaining. That is, if we're merely watching it on the screen and had no involvement in its production. Actually, even if we make a film ourself, watching it afterwards should technically still be considered entertaining rather than fun. Of course, a movie experience can be fun. I have fun at a lot of movies I attend, but not because of the movie I'm watching. Like in the case of my recent experience with The Strangers, the movie was not what was fun, not even my observance of the audience was officially fun. But for me, the ticket buying, the popcorn eating, the sitting in the dark is all fun. And the movie was entertaining, as was the crowd. I guess that the experience of watching a movie at home or on your iPod can also be fun, but still in any scenario, the actual movie itself is never fun; it's only entertaining.
Review: The Wackness Jul 4, 2008 Petes1234567 Other (Note: We're re-posting the following review of The Wackness from The Tribeca Film Festival to coincide with the film's theatrical release this weekend.) Finally, a film for kids of the 90's! This is a hard review to write because it feels as if The Wackness was tailor-made for people like me: a male who grew up in New York City and graduated high school in 1994; the year this film was set. (Actually, I graduated in 1995, but it doesn't matter much: same kids, same lingo, same music, same surroundings). How do you review your childhood? These were all kids I hung out with, this was the music we listened to, these were the mix tapes we made and these were the girls we tried to hook up with ... but didn't. And, to some extent, it actually surprises me that so many people have loved The Wackness -- not because it's a terrible movie, mind you, but because kids who grew up in New York City during the '90s were annoying as all hell, with their "Yo, that was mad good" and their "He's got da skillz, kid!" Trust me, I know -- I was one of them.
The Spirit of Kubrick Shines On in UK TV Advert Jul 4, 2008 Petes1234567 Other As an admitted Admirer-And-Not-Much-More of Stanley Kubrick's 1980 horror classic, The Shining (I know, I know, blasphemy and such), I still got a genuine kick out of this Channel 4 promo for their upcoming month-long Kubrick retrospective. Hosted on UK newspaper The Guardian's website, the ad consists of a single minute-long tracking shot and takes the view of the Academy Award-winning filmmaker as he dashes about the quite meticulously recreated set. The twins, the axe, the maze, each and every last iconic touch -- it's almost like they Overlook-ed nothing... (No? Too much? Apologies all around then.) I'm having trouble ascertaining whether or not Channel 4 was also responsible for this live-action opening to 'The Simpsons' that popped up a few years back. Even if it's not, the fact still remains that precious few American commercials can claim to be their equal in both fondness and dedication. Alas, until Spike someday hosts a Joe Eszterhas tribute marathon...
Matt Damon's title fears Jul 4, 2008 Petes1234567 Other Matt Damon is worried he may lose his 'Sexiest Man Alive' title. 'The Bourne Ultimatum' star - who was given the honour last year by People magazine - joked the 20 to 30lbs he gained for Steven Soderbergh's upcoming thriller 'The Informant' may disqualify him from the position. He said: "I think I lost my title." The former heartthrob - who won an Oscar for co-writing 'Good Will Hunting' with close friend Ben Affleck - also revealed he really enjoyed piling on the pounds for the role. He added to People magazine: "It wasn't necessarily that I needed to be fat. It was that I needed to be doughy. "I just stopped working out and basically just ate whatever I wanted. I ate a lot of In-N-Out, a lot of burgers, drank a lot of beer and basically had a great time. "When you're in your 20s you can do that kind of stuff. When you're in your 30s, it's a whole different ball game." Meanwhile, 'Gone Baby Gone' director Affleck has been quick to poke fun at his porky pal. He said: "Some things are just self-evident and don't even require making fun of. I mean, the man buys two seats on an airplane!"
Christina Applegate's boyfriend dies Jul 4, 2008 Petes1234567 Other Christina Applegate is "profoundly saddened" by the death of her on-off boyfriend Lee Grivas. The 'Samantha Who' star - who dated 26-year-old Lee at various points throughout the last two years - was not with the aspiring photographer at the time of his death, but says she is stunned by the news. She told Us Weekly magazine: "I am profoundly saddened. Lee was an incredible human being who was an extremely important and beautiful part of my life. "He is missed beyond words. He touched so many and I feel much sadness for his mother, father, brother, and all of his family and friends." Grivas' body - which showed no visible signs of trauma - was discovered in his apartment in Hollywood, California, by a neighbour on Tuesday (01.07.08). While no cause of death has been officially confirmed, Los Angeles' Department of Coroner's Lieutenant Fred Corral suggested it may have been drug-related. He said: "Grivas did have a history of drug abuse, and our investigator found a syringe at the scene." Corral went on to say a toxicology report would discover the cause of death.

Nicole Richie Pregnant With Second Child? Jul 4, 2008 SexiVixxEN Other Nicole Richie has fueled rumors she's pregnant with her second child - after revealing she wanted a companion for daughter Harlow. The 26-year-old star -- who gave birth to her first child with boyfriend Joel Madden in January this year -- is now said to be expecting her second child. A source reveals, "Nicole is dying to have a sibling for Harlow who is close in age. She doesn't want them to be more than two years apart, so that they can be best friends forever." The 'Simple Life' star first sparked reports she may soon be adding to her brood when she was spotted wearing a flowing lilac 'maternity-style' top. An onlooker said, "The top was not something Nicole usually wears. She ordinarily goes for tight T-shirts and vest tops. The other unusual thing was that she was wearing comfy sheepskin boots and not her usual heels - the boots definitely looked like something a pregnant woman would wear."
Jake Gyllenhaal: Oh Pleeeeeease! Jul 4, 2008 SexiVixxEN Other Jake Gyllenhaal mounts a white horse and practices his sword fighting skills for his latest movie, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, in England on Thursday. From the looks of it, Jake is really getting into character with those facial expressions of his. And he’s growing his hair out really long, too! Girlfriend Reese Witherspoon, 32, is staying with Jake at his London home in Notting Hill. Yesterday, she was spotted shopping at Sienna Miller’s Twenty8Twelve. Jake Gyllenhaal gets wild and crazy on his steed while making flicking his wrist! Whoaaa boy! What exactly are you doing Jake? (The 27-year-old actor was practicing his horseback riding for his upcoming film, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.) Jake will be joining his sister Maggie at one of The Dark Knight premieres as a tribute to his Brokeback Mountain co-star Heath Ledger. (Maggie worked with Heath on the new Batman flick.)

Lynne Spears Jamie Lynn Spears Battle Maddie Briann Pictures Deal972 Jul 4, 2008 SexiVixxEN Other New mother Jamie Lynn Spears is livid her stage mom has masterminded the sale of interviews and photos of the teen’s newborn baby girl, Maddie Briann Aldridge. Lynne Spears has ironed out multimillion-dollar deals for Maddie Briann’s first closeup to multiple celebrity mags, including one that will serve the Spears clan with a $1 million payday-much to Jamie Lynn’s chagrin. “Jamie Lynn is in a huge fight with Lynne over a deal she made to sell the baby’s photos to a magazine for a reported $1 million,” a source told the National Enquirer. “Lynne made the deal months ago when Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy was announced…Jamie Lynn said she hates that her mom can’t see past the money.” But the seventeen year old mama is determined to raise her infant daughter far away from the harsh glare of the Hollywood public eye: “….She has had a change of heart and doesn’t want Maddie to end up like Britney’s sons, Sean and Jayden, being photographed everytime they go anywhere…She wants no part of the Hollywood scene for her daughter….Jamie Lynn is torn between wanting a grandmother in her daughter’s life and having to put up with a mother who wants to sell her out.”

Editorial: Could The Dark Knight Kill The Superhero Genre? Jul 4, 2008 SexiVixxEN Other Yesterday we brought you a selection of the first bunch of Dark Knight reviews here. They weren’t just all resoundingly positive, they were flat out bat-drool. In the 24 hours since posting that story, the number of rabidly devoted reviews of The Dark Knight has only multiplied, with even more frantic, mind-blowing praise coming from every single corner. If there’s been a single negative word said about the movie so far, I haven’t found it. And as the number of screamingly awesome Dark Knight reviews roaming around out there continues to multiply, the excitement over the film is reaching an almost epic crescendo. I think it’s safe to say there’s never been this much internet excitement for any movie, ever. Whether that’s true or not, two things are becoming abundantly clear: This thing is really, really good and people are going to start riots just to see it. Granted it’s still early, and there’s nearly 2 weeks worth of discussion to go, but the current consensus seems to be that this isn’t just the best superhero movie ever made, but maybe one of the best movies as well. If that’s true, I think maybe the superhero genre is in trouble. Superhero movies have been all the rage for nearly a decade now, after a brief hiatus when the whole thing was killed off by a string of high-profile stinkers like Batman & Robin. Usually these things are cyclical. Cowboy movies are popular, only to be supplanted by Pirate movies. Pirate movies are popular for awhile, until people get high on outer space movies, and so on. For the superhero film that cycle has lasted longer than normal, surviving and even thriving in the face of some seriously bad entries, failures which might have killed any other trend (Elektra I’m looking at you). The worst of the worst superhero flicks hasn’t been able to kill the moviegoing interest in watching men in tights. Maybe it’ll take something incredibly good to do it. Not just good, but the perfect superhero film. If The Dark Knight really is the amazing, world-changing, shining beacon of awesome early reviewers seem to be touting it as, then where does that leave every superhero movie that comes after it? With an impossible standard to live up to, that’s where. A movie that good becomes the genre’s pinnacle, and it’s all downhill from there. Just look at how the excitement over this thing has reached such outrageous levels. There’s never been anything like it. Even if The Dark Knight wasn’t good, how could the hype over any other superhero project even hope to match it? We’ll all run out to see Captain America, and then wander home disappointed because while it was nice, it just wasn’t as good as The Dark Knight. Audiences will line up for Spider-Man 4, enjoy it, and yet end up comparing it unfavorably against this Batman And gradually, we’ll get used to disappointment, start to accept that we’ve seen the best there is to see, and maybe, just maybe move on to something else. Would that really be so bad? Superhero movies have had their run. If The Dark Knight really is the capper on the genre, then the world might be ready to give them a break for awhile. Send them off to wherever they keep cowboy movies now and focus on something else. Maybe it’ll be the turn of knights in shining armor or perhaps outer space science fiction will earn a much deserved resurgence. Whatever it is, should The Dark Knight really prove to be the masterpiece it’s being touted as and should the hype surrounding it continue with the same unabated, manic fervor, then to me The Dark Knight seems to be as good a place to press pause on the superhero genre. We might not even be able to help it. Once you’ve seen the best, what point will there be in watching the rest? Enjoy it while it lasts.
Eli Roth and The RZA Developing The Man With the Iron Fist747 Jul 4, 2008 SexiVixxEN Other Buried in this Billboard chat with The RZA is the first announcement of a new project he’s working on with horror poster boy and David Copperfield doppleganger Eli Roth… “RZA has developed a martial arts film with Hollywood pal Eli Roth called The Man with the Iron Fist, which he says has “the blessing” of his ‘teacher,’ Quentin Tarantino…” These three guys! Let’s hope video from Tarantino’s “blessing” surfaces on the DVD. Common sense would dictate that The Man With the Iron Fist is categorically unrelated to Marvel’s kung-fu fighting character of the same name. Roth is a longtime fan of chopsockey; maybe he’ll cast friend Matthew Helms, a 19-year-old martial artist and actor who played the lovely “Pan Cake Dennis” in his Cabin Fever? Here’s the ridic clip. We reported previously that RZA has completed a collaboration with Hans Zimmer on the score to Babylon A.D. And for the Wu-literate, RZA says that he may finally, finally get around to editing and releasing his Bobby Digital blaxploitation movie, which focuses on the “science lab origins” of his neoghetto alter-ego, a violent playboy who wears a $1 party mask, drives ‘rraris and makes no sense. Discuss: Do RZA + QT + Roth equal the new Night at the Roxbury? What will Eli Roth-fu look like? I guess the obvious answer is…something like Pan Cake Dennis?
Hancock is a Ssssmash: So What Did You Think? Jul 4, 2008 SexiVixxEN Other Since Tuesday, Hancock has grossed over $40 million domestically and is on track to stack $100 million plus by wke’s end. While early word from critics and geeks is decidedly mixed, that’s a lot of moolah for Will Smith, director Peter Berg (his first major hit), and Sony. Or is it? How puzzling that Nikke Finke says there are serious doubts circling inside the studio regarding Hancock’s franchise potential—she even compares the film’s buzz to Wild Wild West. Jab, Hook, Jab. With a reported budget of $150 million, Jeff Wells cries Feh if the film grosses $90 mill or less by Sunday. My take: the stampede of flip-flops after the holiday will remain steady, less steady than I Am Legend, which received similar “third act was wack” laments, but so what? Will Smith’s “coasting” will outperform the equally pricey The Incredible Hulk. And judging from early viewer comments below, “light fun” beats out-and-out hate. Discuss: So, what did you think? In a summer of superlative superhero outings, where does Will Smith’s gravity-defying, comic-less street gruff fall? What did you make of the twisteroo that’s drawing steely comparisons to the guy who made The Happening? Would the film have been cooler if it was freed up by an R-rating as originally envisioned and marked by the MPAA—click here to read Vincent Ngo’s leaked screenplay forTonight, He Comes. Was the 92-minute running time too short? Was the editing botched? Is a sequel warranted? What of the performances of Smith and Charlize Theron? Does the Hancock storyline/concept cancel out “Demon in a Bottle” for Iron Man 2 as some have prematurely suggested in the preceding weeks? Worth seeing in a theater?
Studio Exec Denies Friends Movie Rumors Jul 4, 2008 Petes1234567 Other A representative for Warner Bros film studio has quashed speculation of a Friends reunion movie. The hit TV sitcom - which starred Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc - came to an end in 2004 after a 10-year run. It was rumored earlier this week (begs30Jun08) that Cox and Aniston were keen to reprise their roles for a movie version of the show, as long as the story was right. They were alleged to have been inspired by the massive box office success of Sex and the City: The Movie, which was turned from a TV series into a big-screen film earlier this year (08). But the claims have been refuted by executives at Warner Bros, the studio behind Friends. Jayne Trotman, Warner's director of publicity in the U.K., says, "(There's) no truth in the story." And publicists for both Cox and Perry have also stepped in to deny the rumours. Perry's spokeswoman, Lisa Kasteler, adds, "Nothing is happening in this regard, so the rumour is false."
Statham steps out with Clooney's ex Jul 4, 2008 Petes1234567 Other Jason Statham has been spotted with George Clooney's ex-girlfriend Sarah Larson. According to celebrity site Perez Hilton, the British actor accompanied the former cocktail waitress to dinner at the Palms Place hotel in Las Vegas. After the meal, the pair were seen attending a pool party that featured 25,000 floating rubber ducks. Larson, who once competed on reality show Fear Factor, went out with Clooney for a year before being dumped by the actor in May. Statham, known for his roles in action films Crank and the Transporter series, formerly dated TV presenter Kelly Brook.

Thirteen "The Dark Knight" Clips Jul 4, 2008 Petes1234567 Other Thanks to IGN, we now have thirteen new clips from the upcoming "The Dark Knight." The clips may not be long, but since this is such a highly-anticipated movie, it might be a good idea to avoid watching them, as to not spoil the film for yourself. In the film, with the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), Batman (Christian Bale) sets out to dismantle the remaining criminal organizations that plague the city streets. The partnership proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a reign of chaos unleashed by a rising criminal mastermind known to the terrified citizens of Gotham as The Joker (Ledger). Christopher Nolan returns to helm the film, which is scheduled to hit conventional and IMAX theaters on July 18th.
BARE BOND IS BACK Jul 4, 2008 Petes1234567 Other Daniel Craig is in trouble with Bond bosses about the amount of time he's seen with his kit off in the new movie - because he doesn't do it enough! The 40-year-old Brit actor has been filming extra scenes and reshoots after producers ordered more of his impressive physique to be on show. "The producers are very aware that Bond needs to appeal to a mass audience including women," says a 007 insider. "The scene in the last movie with Bond coming out of the sea from a swim was a hug hit with female audiences and there will be similar treats in store this time. A couple of scenes have been shot again to fulfil that aim and another scene with Daniel baring all has been added."
Discuss: Are Studios Ruining Older Films on Blu-ray? Jul 4, 2008 Petes1234567 Other There's a very interesting discussion going on over on Hollywood Elsewhere today about whether studios re-releasing older movies on Blu-ray are going too far in tweaking the originals to make them look "better." At the center of the discussion is the Dirty Harry Blu-ray DVD. Glenn Erickson, writing for film.com, points out that the Patton Blu-ray DVD was "enhanced to minimize the natural grain," but that in that case, the altering makes it look more like the theatrical 70mm presentation, so he doesn't take issue with that one. The Dirty Harry Blu-ray, however, Erickson considers "more complicated." He notes: "The Blu-ray disc shows heavy tweaking to minimize grain, sharpen contrast and brighten colors. Sunny exteriors haven't changed much but heavy processing has given most night shots an almost unnatural look -- detail and bright color in what were once dimly lit areas, with everything else falling into inky blackness. " Jeff Wells doesn't have a problem with this -- if it makes Dirty Harry look better, who cares? But in the discussion thread on the post, folks are getting down into the nitty-gritty of the issue: studios doing digital remastering for Blu-ray transfers, sometimes without consulting the cinematographer as to why scenes where shot as they were. HE commenter TheVicuna links to an excellent interview at cameraguild.com, the website for the International Cinematographer's Guild, with cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond; in part of the interview, he talks about the DVD transfer of Robert Altman's The Long Goodbye, for which he was not called in to supervise the transfer; the resulting transfer, Zsigmond says in the interview, was "terrible."
International "Igor" Poster Jul 4, 2008 Petes1234567 Other A French poster for the upcoming animated "Igor" film has been released, featuring the title character working in a lab. The movie features voices by John Cusack, Steve Buscemi, John Cleese, Sean Hayes, Eddie Izzard, Jay Leno and Molly Shannon. Cusack, who replaces Christian Slater on the project, will voice the title character of Igor, a gifted scientist who is born with a hunch on his back and is forced to serve a cruel scientist named Dr. Glickenstein. Sean Hayes will play Brian the Brain, a brain in a jar who is one of Igor's sidekicks and inventions. The new film is directed by Anthony Leondis, who last helmed the straight-to-DVD sequel "Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch." "Igor" is set for a September 19th release date.
Nicolas Cage's "Knowing" Trailer Jul 4, 2008 Petes1234567 Other The trailer for the upcoming Nicolas Cage sci-fi thriller "Knowing" has been released. The film is directed by Alex Proyas, the man behind "The Crow," "Dark City" and "I, Robot." "Knowing" is scheduled to hit theaters on March 20th, 2009. Official Plot Summary: In 1958, as part of the dedication ceremony for a new elementary school, a group of students is asked to draw pictures to be stored in a time capsule. But one of the students, a mysterious girl who seems to hear whispered voices, fills her sheet of paper with rows of apparently random numbers instead. Fast forward 50 years to the present: A new generation of students examines the contents of the time capsule and the girl's cryptic message ends up in the hands of young Caleb Myles. But it is Caleb's father, professor Ted Myles (Cage), who makes the startling discovery that the encoded message predicts with pinpoint accuracy the dates, death tolls and coordinates of every major disaster of the past 50 years. As Ted further unravels the document's secrets, he realizes it foretells three additional events—the last of which hints at destruction on a global scale and seems to somehow involve Ted and his son. When Ted's attempts to alert the authorities fall on deaf ears, he takes it upon himself to try to prevent more destruction from taking place. This gripping supernatural thriller charts one man's faltering steps towards belief in the ultimate order of the universe even as he finds himself surrounded by mounting chaos. With the reluctant help of Diana Whelan (Rose Byrne) and Abby, the daughter and granddaughter of the now-deceased author of the cryptic prophecies, Ted's increasingly desperate efforts take him on a heart-pounding race against time until he finds himself facing the ultimate disaster — and the ultimate sacrifice.

Despite spending most of the year looking like she was about to explode, Halle Berry was chosen to top the list. But TV One doesn't think that good looks are what makes their choices sexy. "The women selected as our 16 sexiest black women aren't just pretty faces. Each one of them is uniquely talented, strong-minded and self-assured," said the program's senior producer. Other woman chosen for the list include Tyra Banks and Paula Patton. I guess anyone who can star in a movie like Catwoman and continue her acting career must have some sort of unique talent.
Let Angelina Breathe, Dammit Jul 4, 2008 SexiVixxEN Other Angelina Jolie's obstetrician Michel Sussman is requesting that the media give her some space. Reportedly, Angie is due to go into labor sometime within the next two weeks and she's holed up with Brad in a maternity clinic in Nice. Sussman called a press conference in which said that Jolie had scheduled coming into the clinic "well in advance" and that the birth of the babies would not be premature. He also said that four rooms had been reserved for her, Brad and their security detail. The doctor added, "We believe the security concerns they have raised are legitimate. She is a pregnant woman. She is perfectly entitled to protect her privacy. We should let her breathe." In the meantime, enjoy these adorable pictures of Shiloh and Zahara. It looks like Shiloh's getting some practice being a big sister already.
The Dark Knight’s Entertainment Weekly Cover Jul 4, 2008 SexiVixxEN Other Next week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly features Batman and The Joker on the cover. You can read the whole Dark Knight cover story now on EW.com. Heath Ledger isn't here. It's July 2007, in downtown Chicago, and the actor was originally scheduled to be shooting a scene in which he uses a pencil as a lethal weapon. But the sequence has been postponed, and Ledger has the day off. Instead, we're watching the cameras roll on a somewhat less riveting moment in The Dark Knight: Billionaire Bruce Wayne, exhausted from his late-night crime-fighting escapades, slumps into a chair and falls asleep in the middle of a business meeting. That's right, we're watching Batman take a nap. No matter. Ledger is all over this set in another way — he's all that anyone working on the movie wants to talk about. Director Christopher Nolan calls Ledger's acting in the film ''fearless.'' Christian Bale, the Caped Crusader himself, says it's ''intense — a superb performance.'' And Morgan Freeman, who plays inventor Lucius Fox (his job in today's scene is to chat with Wayne after the Bat nap), chimes in with a simple ''extraordinary.'' Even before a single frame of the film has been seen, Ledger's twisted turn as the Joker — a part once played by no less an icon than Jack Nicholson — is already building buzz as a dazzling, demented tour de force. Six months later, in January 2008, it will suddenly, shockingly, become much more. With The Dark Knight, Nolan and Bale return to Gotham City for a second, even moodier and more savage installment of the superhero franchise they revamped in 2005 with Batman Begins. The movie delivers on its promise, pitting Batman against the freaky new fiend in psychotic cosmetics who robs banks and blows up hospitals for the sheer anarchic kick of it. Most of the familiar faces (and one new Two-Face) are on board, including wry butler Alfred (Michael Caine), stalwart police detective Gordon (Gary Oldman), and lawyer-slash-love interest Rachel Dawes (Maggie Gyllenhaal, taking over the role from Katie Holmes), as well as a new crusading district attorney named Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart). The Dark Knight has everything fans expect from the series: gizmos like a sleek new ''Bat Pod'' motorcycle, eye-popping stunts (most performed the old-fashioned way, with real stuntmen and real explosions), and, of course, the brooding Bale, arguably the best, certainly the most serious actor ever to growl under the cowl. Still, when the film opens July 18, Ledger will be Topic A. His turn in The Dark Knight would have been widely talked about this summer even if the 28-year-old actor hadn't died of an accidental prescription-drug overdose last January. It might have even earned him another Oscar nomination (it still could, posthumously). Now the performance is shrouded in tragedy, though, and may well be Ledger's last cinematic testament (it's unclear what Terry Gilliam will, or can, do with the actor's unfinished footage from The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus). And that loads The Dark Knight with a poignancy its creators never anticipated. Certainly one they never desired. Along with the grief it caused friends and family, Ledger's death cast a shadow of uncertainty over the film. It had Warner Bros. reexamining its entire marketing plans for the movie, conducting taste tests on the appropriateness of Ledger's clown face on publicity stills and in trailers. Hardly the way the studio had hoped it would be launching its biggest summer thrill ride. NEXT PAGE: ''The guy had serious nuts. I needed someone who wouldn't be afraid of the comparison with Jack Nicholson. This was an actor who wasn't afraid to bury himself in his character — to a massive extent.''
Terminator Salvation Set Photo Jul 4, 2008 SexiVixxEN Other The New York Times has a photo from the set of McG’s Terminator Salvation. Looks like they blew up a 7-Eleven in the outskirts of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The story also reiterates the sequel’s rumored budget of “more than $200 million”. I understand the knee jerk reaction most people are having to the idea of a fourth Terminator film, but I’ve been hearing some really great things about this production.

Here, Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens) and Troy (Zac Efron) celebrate the best night of their lives – prom! – as only East High's Wildcats can: with a magical musical-dance number. "Vanessa's definitely the stronger dancer," Efron, 20, tells PEOPLE. "If I forget the next move, she'll lead me. We have to help each other, that's what we do." Harry Potter Wiz: Two-Part Finale a Cash Grab! Jul 4, 2008 labelitlove Other Sirius Black crushes young Harry Potter's innocence forever! See, Gary Oldman played sketchy wizard Black in several Potter flicks, and he still keeps in touch with series star Daniel Radcliffe. During this week's press junket for The Dark Knight, Oldman dished on a recent chat with Radcliffe that, like, totally destroyed the young actor's childlike naïveté. Oldman doesn't have any scenes in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows—being released in two parts starting in 2010—but that doesn't mean he's out of the Hogwarts loop. "[Daniel] called me up to say that [Deathly Hallows] was going to be in two parts," Oldman said. "'It's just so dense, so much material, that's why,' he says. "And I said, 'Uh, no, Daniel. That's not the reason why. Cha-ching!' And he was a little crushed. He said ‘Oh, yeah. I see what you mean.' " See? Sirius Black really was a Death Eater after all. The next movie adaptation of the J.K. Rowling saga, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, debuts in Nov...

The £2,000 a month porn habit of supermodel Christie Brinkley's fourth husband Jul 4, 2008 labelitlove Other The fourth husband of the model Christie Brinkley spent almost £2,000 a month on online pornography and had an affair with a teenage employee, a court has heard. The salacious details of the habits of Peter Cook, 49, came to light at the start of their divorce hearing, which is expected to reveal sensational details of the couple's unconventional lifestyles. At Central Islip Court on Long Island, New York, Miss Brinkley's lawyer Stephen Cohen said Mr Cook visited swinging websites using the name of their 13-year-old son Jack. Jack was fathered by the model's third husband Richard Taubman but was subsequently adopted by Mr Cook. Miss Brinkley has fought to have the case heard in public, claiming that her children had to know the truth about the marriage break-up. At the opening of the hearing, Mr Cohen called Cook, 49, a "liar, drunkard and adulterer" who spent £1,800 a month on pornography but failed to contribute to household expenses.
Jean-Claude Van Damme: I'm a brand name like Levi's Jul 4, 2008 labelitlove Other Modest Jean-Claude Van Damme says he’s not surprised he’s a household name. In Japan, Belgium or America, a punch is a punch. ‘Comedy will be different in Europe or America, so my movies are very international. I’m a brand name. Van Damme is like Levi’s. 'I go on vacation, and everywhere I go, people love me for my name, not for my movies.’ But the Muscles From Brussels, who has been divorced 4 times, insists there are some drawbacks to fame. ‘A day doesn’t go past when I’m not recognised,’ he says. ‘That can be hard for a woman to deal with.’ Despite his self-belief, Jean-Claude, 47, admits he’s made a few howlers in his time. ‘I’ve made 36 movies in 20 years and I overacted a lot in my early career,’ he tells Metro. ‘So it’s very difficult for me to look at myself in those early movies.’

The Kent-born King Kong star, 39, is four months pregnant with her second baby with actor partner Liev Schreiber, MailOnline has learned. The couple co-starred in the romantic epic The Painted Veil. Happy Days TV hero meets pupils Jul 4, 2008 labelitlove Other The television character The Fonz from the 70s US sitcom Happy Days has been talking with schoolchildren in Southampton about his dyslexia. Henry Winkler, who became a star as Arthur Fonzarelli, charmed youngsters at Foundry Lane Primary School talking about how he dealt with his dyslexia. His visit was set up by First News, a children's newspaper holding a tour for the 2008 National Year of Reading. Mr Winkler, now in his 60s, has co-written 15 books. When he arrived at the school on Wednesday, he also read from one of his series of Hank Zipzer children's novels, which are based on his experiences growing up with an undiagnosed condition. "The children have to know that if I can do it, they can do it," he said. "That you need to focus, you need tenacity, preparation - you just do the best you can."
